More than 500 passengers narrowly escaped being hit by a storm in the Meghna River.

Marine truck ‘Sangu’ operated by Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BITWA) got stuck in a storm on the Meghna river in Bhola on Wednesday, giving a terrifying experience to over 500 people living in the house.

After about an hour the ship finally reached Ilisha Ghat safely. Upon reaching the shore alive, many passengers expressed gratitude before Almighty Allah, many began to cry.

Today, around 9:30 am on Wednesday, strong winds and heavy rain started at many places in Bhola Sadar upazila, causing the Meghna river to become turbulent. At that time, the marine truck Sangu left from Majuchaudhurir Ghat in Lakshmipur for Ilisa Ghat in Bhola carrying more than five hundred passengers.
