Approximately 764,000 tickets were sold for Napoleon in its first week of release in France, ahead of ‘The Hunger Games’ 370,275 tickets sold and now in its second week of release. New movies come out every Wednesday in France.

The film ‘Napoleon’, which was originally shot in English, is being shown in France in both English with subtitles and dubbed French versions, giving viewers the choice between languages.

It has also been the subject of a major publicity campaign, with posters of the Phoenix in Napoleon’s iconic bicorne hat harassing commuters at metro stations across Paris.
