When asked for a reaction, CWAB president Mohammed Mithun told Prothom Alo, “We put forth our demands, the board promised. Now the board has not fulfilled it; that is entirely their problem.”
He said that since Nazmul did not apologize, he had little to say on the matter. This raises the question that if this is so then why did they take such a tough stance by boycotting the first BPL match?
Earlier, there was confusion over Nazmul’s reinstatement when BCB media committee head Amjad Hussain denied it.
On 25 January, Najmul told Prothom Alo that the previous night’s board meeting had decided to reinstate him as head of the finance committee. But Amjad denied Prothom Alo, saying no such decision had been taken, and repeated the same claim at a press conference after the board meeting.
Today, Monday, efforts to contact Amjad for clarification were unsuccessful as he did not answer his phone.
