Nilawan Rakhine from Cox’s Bazar studied at the Department of Poly, University of Chittagong in the 2016–17 academic session. His applications for PhD study have been accepted by three universities in the United States.
He ultimately chose Clemson University, where he won a fully funded five-year PhD scholarship. His research will focus on education, specifically teaching and learning.
She is scheduled to leave for the United States on August 1. After completing her PhD, she hopes to apply the knowledge and experience she has gained to improve the education system of Bangladesh.
Neela completed her Secondary School Certificate (SSC) at Cox’s Bazar Government Girls High School, before completing her Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) at Cox’s Bazar Government Girls’ High School.
He faced financial difficulties from an early age. His father, Mongphruthen Rakhine, worked as a tailor and was the sole breadwinner for his four-member family.
Due to financial constraints, she could not afford university entrance coaching. While preparing for the university entrance examinations, Neela worked in a pathology clinic, where she earned about 4,000 taka per month.
He gave part of his income to support his family and saved the rest to cover his university admission expenses.
