Neelsagar Express train derails in Bogura, cutting off rail connectivity between Dhaka and 5 districts

Nine coaches of Neelsagar Express train from Dhaka to Nilphamari carrying passengers going home for Eid derailed at Adamdighi, Bogura.

The incident occurred today, Wednesday, around 2:30 pm, near Baghbari area, not far from Santhar Junction in the upazila. At least 50 people have been injured.

Following the incident, five districts in the northern region – Nilphamari, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, Panchgarh and Joypurhat – have lost rail connectivity with Dhaka.

The injured have been admitted to Naugaon District Hospital and Adamdighi Upazila Health Complex.
