Unlike conventional musical talent hunt competitions, global coffee brand Nescafe is set to arrange a musical competition with a difference–, “Nescafe Get set Rock”. A press conference was held at hotel Ruposhi Bangla yesterday to announce the new competition. Through this competition the organisers hope to single out the best instrumentalists and the best vocalist in forming the best band of the forthcoming generation. Managing director of Nestle Bangladesh Limited Laurent Therond, brand manager Galib Bin Mohammad, noted musician and supply chain director Naquib Khan of Nestle Bangladesh Limited, managing director of Channel i Faridur Reza Sagor along with the judges –Bappa Mazumder, Ayub Bachchu and Pilu Khan were present at the press conference. Bangladeshi musicians and vocalists (male or female aged above 18 years) who can play any sort of instrument may apply for registration to take part in the competition. The deadline for registration is November 30 (midnight). The audition round for the competition will begin at six divisional cities –Khulna, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Sylhet, Chittagong and Dhaka on December 3. The final crop of talents picking from the audition round will vie for the competition, which will be aired from December 30 on Channel i at primetime every Friday and Monday. Channel i, Radio Foorty and Kaler Kantha are the media partners of the competition.
