Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday his government had no response to an attempt by the United States and its allies to broker a 21-day ceasefire in Israel’s fighting with the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.
“This is a US-French proposal to which the prime minister has not yet responded,” a statement from Netanyahu’s office said, adding that he had ordered the military to “continue the fight with full force.”
In a separate statement, the army said a tank brigade carried out exercises on Thursday morning “a few kilometres from the Lebanese border… in dense, mountainous terrain.”
