Scholastica concluded its two-day A-level graduation ceremony at the STM Auditorium of the school in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Two hundred and sixty-eight students from the two senior branches received graduation certificates at the ceremony, said a press release.
The graduation ceremony of the Scholastica Uttara’s senior campus was graced by microbiologist Senjuti Saha, deputy executive director of Child Health Research Foundation, as the chief guest.
She encouraged the graduating students to pursue knowledge with curiosity, compassion and integrity before handing over the certificates to the graduates.
The ceremony also featured speeches by Farah Sophia Ahmed, principal of Scholastica’s Uttara senior campus, and Sabina Mustafa, head of academic affairs.
The speakers urged students to uphold values of honesty, humanity and creativity as they moved forward into the next phase of their lives.
Among the 141 graduates from the Scholastica Uttara, 3 students received ‘honours’, 18 achieved ‘high honours’, and 13 were recognised for outstanding achievements in various subjects.
Student representatives Syed Samirul Islam Khan and Nusaiba Binte Haque delivered speeches on behalf of the graduating class.
Earlier, the graduation ceremony of Scholastica’s Mirpur campus was attended by Professor Daniel W Lund, pro-vice-chancellor of Independent University, Bangladesh, as chief guest.
Speeches were also delivered by Nurun Nahar Mozumdar, principal of the Scholastica Mirpur campus, and Tanweera Khatoon, senior academic supervisor.
On the Mirpur campus, among the 127 graduates, 7 students earned ‘honours’, 11 achieved ‘high honours’, and 13 received recognition for exceptional academic accomplishments in different subjects.
Khondokar Tahseeb Faiyaz and Zahra Labiba Kabir spoke on behalf of the graduating students.
Students of Scholastica also presented cultural performances, including music and dance, adding colour and excitement to the ceremonies.
