In response to this, Iftikharuzzaman said that if there is a conspiracy behind this, or an attempt is made to give opportunity to a particular vested group, then it will be an even more serious matter.
He said that in such a situation the government should conduct a completely impartial investigation and take appropriate action.
The Executive Director of TIB further stated that if, through the appointment initiative, a top level individual or institution who was among those most responsible for the looting is restored to authority, it cannot be beneficial to the state in any way.
He urged the government to cancel the appointment of the Governor of Bangladesh Bank and take initiative to appoint a new Governor.
