The success and failure of the new government will depend on properly fulfilling the promises made to the people before the elections and in this case the ability and qualification of the new cabinet members is very important. Keeping in view the past successes and failures and activities, it cannot be said that all the members of the Cabinet passed that test. There were mixed reactions from various quarters on the new cabinet.
The biggest challenge for the new government is to overcome the emerging economic challenges. In its election manifesto, the Awami League set the goals of affordable prices of essential commodities, increasing jobs, establishing good governance, economic growth, promoting democratic practices and reducing discrimination. To implement these goals, along with maintaining political stability, economic development will also have to be accelerated. It remains to be seen how the new government overcomes these challenges.
