Nine Palestinians killed as toll increases in West Bank

The Israeli military said it carried out an airstrike that killed “several terrorists” in Nour Shams.

“There was an exchange of fire with armed gunmen, including explosive devices thrown at Israeli security forces,” an army statement said.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said its medics treated 25 people in Nour Shams, most of whom suffered gunshot wounds.

“Ambulances carrying injured people are being detained by the military,” the organization said in a statement.

The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the allegation when contacted by AFP.

In separate clashes early Thursday, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Israeli forces shot dead a 17-year-old boy in the Dheisheh refugee camp near Bethlehem and a 32-year-old man in Budrus, west of Ramallah.

In Budrus, the Israeli military said people “threw Molotov cocktails and other objects” and burned tires and trash, prompting soldiers to open fire.
