The authorities have introduced a new syllabus in classes one, six and seven this year and will bring classes two, three, eight and nine under the curriculum next year. It will be rolled out to the remaining classes in 2025.

The government aims to provide uniform education to the students up to the higher secondary level.

In 2020, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that there is no need for group separation in class nine, and all students can take the same subjects up to the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) level.
