Earlier, at a press conference held at the Secretariat, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Zahed ur Rehman said, “I have seen news reports claiming that honors programs in some subjects are being abolished. Unless there is an official announcement from the government, I would advise not to give importance to such reports.”
Zahid ur Rahman also said that he did not believe that honors programs in six subjects, including Bengali, history and philosophy, would be discontinued.
