The state’s chief counsel said there was no precedent in the judicial history of the country for defending oneself without appearing in court.
“Two brothers (Managing Director of Sikdar Group Ron Haq Sikdar and his brother Deepu Haq Sikdar) had requested for bail from abroad during the time of Corona pandemic. Therefore, there is no scope for Tariq and Zubeida to defend themselves from abroad,” the Attorney General said.
