Not Bollywood or Hollywood, piracy and vulgar films are the main threat for Bangladeshi films; this opinion is from prominent film director Delowar Jahan Jhantu.
Delowar Jahan Jhantu was debuted as director in 1979 and he has directed nearly seventy films. Now he is busy with a government funded film “Headmaster”. Prominent actors and actresses including Alamgir, Champa and Bappa Raj will work in this film. This film is on a story of a headmaster who struggles to build a school in a remote village.
This prominent director thinks, Bangladeshi film industry is on the verge of collapse. In this situation directors and performers have very little to do. It’s the time for the government to act. The government must take stern action against piracy and vulgar films. Otherwise we will have to see the collapse in near future.
Hindi or English movies are not a big problem, because people can easily watch those on CDs or DVDs at their home.
