Obaidul Quader rejects BNP's demand for immediate elections: AL general secretary is firm on Bangladesh's democracy

AL General Secretary also talked about Mymensingh, Cumilla and other local government elections.

The minister said that yesterday, Saturday, elections were held for 231 local government bodies, with an average voter turnout of about 60 per cent. The elections were largely free and fair and the government did not interfere in the elections.

He thanked the Election Commission, law enforcement agencies and all concerned bodies and people for conducting the elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner. He also congratulated the winners of those elections.

Obaidul Qadir said that BNP leaders participated in elections in many places and won some of them.

He said that after this BNP has no basis to speak against the government regarding the elections.
