Awami League general secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that the BNP general secretary has made an irresponsible statement on the St Martin issue.
He said that strict surveillance has been kept on the Bangladesh-Myanmar border.
Obaidul Quader said that the Awami League has never played a subordinate role and will not do so in the future. He said that there is no intention to wage war with Myanmar.
The Awami League general secretary said this while interacting with reporters at the Awami League president’s Dhanmondi office in the capital on Sunday afternoon.
Myanmar fired at ships on the Teknaf-St Martin naval route. This has created tension.
