Nearly eight hours after the case was registered against the officer-in-charge of Thakurgaon Sadar police station and four other policemen for torturing a Jubo League leader, it was withdrawn.
District Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Jahangir Hussain said that OC Kamal Hussain was withdrawn due to administrative reasons and attached to Rangpur range office.
He said no decision has been taken in respect of the four other accused police officers.
Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, a case was registered against him for harassing Asaddujman Pulak, the organizing secretary of the Jubo League’s district unit.
