Responding to a question by Pakistan’s Geo News journalist Ajaz Syed about Sheikh Hasina’s trial and the reactivation of SAARC, Tariq Rehman said that Bangladesh initiated the formation of SAARC, and his government wants to activate it. They will discuss this matter after the government is formed. On Sheikh Hasina’s trial, Tariq Rehman said, “It will depend on the legal system.”
A Chinese journalist asked which areas seemed most promising for furthering relations with China. Tariq Rahman said, “Like many other countries, China is also a development partner of Bangladesh. We hope that the two countries will work together in the future.”
