Pakistan restrict Ireland to 106-9 in T20 World Cup clash in Florida

T20 World Cup cricket finally got underway in Florida on Sunday, where Pakistan restricted Ireland to 106-9 in their final Group A match.

The Irish were struggling at 32-6 in the seventh over and will be hoping their pacers can also make the most of the help they will get from the Lauderhill surface.

The pro-Pakistan crowd was rewarded with top-class opening bowling after the first three matches were abandoned because of waterlogged grounds following heavy rain.

Left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi devastated the Ireland top order by taking three wickets in the beginning.

The Irish team, which had not been able to practice for the last one week due to a wet pitch, was in deep trouble after losing six wickets for 32 runs, with fast bowler Mohammad Aamir also taking two wickets as the pitch was very favorable for the fast bowlers.
