Citing a standard diplomatic practice, Seheli Sabreen said ambassadors posted in Dhaka inform the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through diplomatic notes when they leave their workplace. The same applies to Bangladeshi ambassadors posted in different countries. They also specify who will act in the ambassador’s place in his or her absence.
Diplomatic sources say that Peter Haas had informed the Foreign Ministry at the end of last month that he was going on leave on November 15. In this connection, he had met Foreign Secretary Masood bin Momen on November 2, because after that the Foreign Secretary was on a visit to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Switzerland.
