On December 12 last year, shortly after Friday prayers, Usman Hadi, who was in a rickshaw on Calvert Road, Purana Paltan, Dhaka, was shot by assailants. After shooting him in the head the attackers fled on a motorcycle.
Seriously injured Osman Hadi was sent to Singapore for treatment, where he died six days later.
Although the police identified former leader of the banned student organization Faisal Karim and his associate Alamgir as the attackers, they were initially unable to catch them.
According to police officials, after carrying out the attack on December 12, Faisal and Alamgir fled to India through Haluaghat border in Mymensingh.
