“Piprabidya- The Ant Story,” the latest flick by celebrated filmmaker Mostafa Sarwar Farooki, is selected for the competition section of the 19th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), which will be held from December 12 to 19 in the capital city of the south-western state of India.
The film will compete with 14 other films from around the world including Iran, South Korea, Japan, Brazil, Morocco and India for The Golden Crow Pheasant Award, the highest accolade of the festival. Noor Imran Mithu, the lead actor of the 95 minutes long drama about the hopeless middle-class youth, will attend the festival along with the director.
Farooki said: “I had my eye on this prestigious festival’s competition section from the beginning. Last year my other film ‘Television’ was selected for the world cinema section though I had hoped for the competition.”
Sheena Chohan, an Indian actress and model from Kolkata, played a vital role in the film produced by Impress Telefilm Ltd.
