Pirates relocate hijacked Bangladeshi ship: Owners of MV Abdullah confirm location

At around 1 pm on Thursday (Bangladesh time), the pirates anchored the ship 20 nautical miles off the coast of Garakad in Somalia. Later in the evening the ship was anchored just seven nautical miles from the coast. Today the ship was taken to a nearby area. It is believed that the pirates are changing locations to maintain their control over the ship.

When asked about this, Kabir Group's media advisor Mizanul Islam told Prothom Alo, “We learned that the pirates have shifted the ship to another place. The crew members are fine.”

At around 1:30 pm on Tuesday afternoon (Bangladesh time), a ship going from Maputo port in Mozambique to UAE was captured by Somali pirates. The ship is carrying about 50,000 tonnes of coal.
