Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived at St Petersburg in Russia at 4 PM (local time) on the first leg of her 12- day tri-nation tour of Russia, Belgium and Japan.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Russia Dr. S. M Saiful Hoque, top ranking officials of the Russian foreign ministry and organisers of global “Tiger Natural Habitat” conference received the Bangladesh Premier at the airport.
Besides, expatriate Bangladeshis living in Russia also welcomed the Prime Minister showering flowers petals and presenting bouquets.
Later, the Prime Minister and members of her entourage were brought to guest-house (cottage) by a ceremonial motorcade.
In the night, the Prime Minister will attend a dinner to be hosted by Honorary Consul of Bangladesh at St. Petersburg.
The Bangladesh Premier would join the high level plenary of global `Tiger Natural Habitat’ conference in Russia and hold bilateral talks with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao tomorrow.
She will address the conference at 3.15 PM (Local time) tomorrow.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister will join working lunch to be hosted by her Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
