PM Hasina calls for speedy decision on August 21 grenade attack

Chairing today’s discussion, Hasina said that some of the culprits in the grenade attack case are now in jail but the main mastermind remains outside the country.

Without taking the name of Tariq Rehman, he said that he had gone abroad after signing a bond. “If he has guts then why doesn’t he come back? We have converted the country into digital Bangladesh. He is now taking advantage of this and talking big… If he has guts then he should come back. People won’t come.” Release that killer,” he said.

Recalling the memory of the gruesome grenade attack, the Prime Minister said that Khaleda Zia was the then Prime Minister and the question is what role did she play at that time.

He questioned why Khaleda obstructed the police (in playing their due role) and did not take any initiative to safeguard the evidence of the attack.
The AL chairman said, “What does this prove? There is no doubt that Khaleda, Tariq and their men were fully involved in this grenade attack. The investigation also revealed this.”

Referring to the involvement of Ziaur Rahman in the 15 August massacre and Khaleda Zia in the 21 August grenade attacks, the PM said that BNP and Khaleda do politics of killing and eliminating a family (Bangabandhu’s family). They do it in broad daylight. He said.
Pointing to the BNP, Hasina said they tried to erase the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from the people of Bangladesh and banned his historic March 7 speech, but ultimately failed.
He said that the spirit of the Liberation War has now returned and people have got a chance to know the authentic history of the Liberation War.
