Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will leave for New York, USA tomorrow to attend the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).
A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and his entourage will depart from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9:45 am.
After a four-hour stopover at London’s Heathrow Airport, the flight is scheduled to land at JKF International Airport, New York at 10:50 pm (New York time) on September 17.
Bangladesh’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Muhammad Abdul Muhith and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to the United States Muhammad Imran will welcome the Prime Minister at the airport.
During her stay in New York from 17-22 September, the Prime Minister will participate in the first day of the high-level general debate of the 78th UNGA session at the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations Headquarters on 19 September, when she will address the September 22 between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm local time.
Sheikh Hasina was also invited to attend a dinner hosted by US President Joe Biden on September 19.
On the sidelines of the UNGA session, she will also participate in a number of bilateral and courtesy meetings, as well as a number of high-level events, including on Rohingya and climate change, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), universal health and finance.
