Regarding the Rohingya, the Swedish State Minister highly praised the Prime Minister of Bangladesh for providing shelter to more than one million displaced Myanmar nationals and said that his government seeks the dignified return of the Rohingyas to their homeland, Myanmar.
She also lauded Sheikh Hasina’s leadership for the overall development of Bangladesh, especially in women empowerment, poverty alleviation and taking measures to mitigate the effects of climate change.
The Prime Minister said that unfortunately developed countries are not doing enough to deal with the effects of climate change.
The Swedish State Minister also said that the deep port will be a game changer for the development of Bangladesh.
The meeting was attended by Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Secretary Mohammad Salahuddin and Swedish Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexandra Berg von Linde.
