PM seeks support from OIC to resolve Rohingya crisis

Rony said the Prime Minister welcomed his comments and thanked the OIC member countries for their support on behalf of the government and people of Bangladesh.

Tariq Rahman recalled the brotherly relations maintained by Bangladesh with OIC member states during the tenure of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and expressed hope to further strengthen those relations in the future.

The meeting was attended by the ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Palestine, Algeria, Brunei, Egypt, Indonesia, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the heads of missions of Iran, Iraq and Libya.

Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs Humayun Kobir, Foreign Ministry Secretary M Forhadul Islam and Additional Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Atiqur Rahman Ruman were present in the meeting.
