During the visit, waste from sacrificial animals were seen lying on the roads along with the already accumulated waste in areas including Hathirpool, Elephant Road, Green Road, Farmgate and Caravan Bazaar. The Minister of State said that the Prime Minister has seen negligence in removing garbage in these areas. Following his instructions, two regional executive officers of Dhaka North and South City Corporations were immediately attached to the Ministry of Public Administration. Departmental action has also been ordered against him on charges of dereliction of duty.
The officials reassigned to the Ministry of Public Administration are Mohammad Sadekul Rahman, regional executive officer of Zone-5 of Dhaka North City Corporation, and Qazi Saleh Mustanjir, regional executive officer of Zone-1 of Dhaka South City Corporation. Both hold the post of Deputy Secretary.
