The National Citizen Party (NCP) leaders were once again stopped by the police soon after they entered Habiganj, although earlier they had broken the police barricade at Srimangal, Moulvibazar. Police stopped his convoy at Kamaichara area of Bahubal upazila at around 5:15 pm. By 6:45 pm, when this report was filed, the leaders were present at the spot.
Eyewitnesses said a bus was parked at Kamaichara on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway, effectively blocking the road. Light rain fell soon after the blockade began, but NCP leaders remained on the highway despite the weather. They raised various slogans. More than 200 members of the police and Special Protection and Security Battalion (SPBN) were deployed in front of the bus.
Earlier, at around 5 pm, police had stopped the NCP convoy near the Cha Konya sculpture at Satgaon in Srimangal on the Dhaka-Sylhet regional highway. The convoy included NCP convenor Nahid Islam, chief organizer (North) Sarjis Alam, chief organizer Nasir Uddin Patwari, chief organizer (South) Hasnat Abdullah, Jatiya Nari Shakti member secretary Mahmuda Meetu and other central leaders.
