A businessman from Jamtala Mor said that the area turned into a battlefield during the clash. The shopkeepers closed their shops and left the place in a hurry. Actually, the police could not imagine that BNP people could carry out such an attack.
Rajan Kumar Das, Additional Superintendent of Police in Sunamganj, said that some 30-40 BNP men tried to create obstacles on the road. When the police stopped them, a clash broke out. They tried to attack the police from two sides but the law enforcement controlled the situation. He told that the situation is calm now.
