Nafeez Ahmed alias Raju, general secretary of BNP’s Khoksha municipality unit, said that the sub-district office has been locked for a long time due to police pressure. It was opened on Friday morning to organize the program on Vijay Diwas.
Later, sub-inspector Mozammel Hussain asked them to pull down the flag, close the office and leave the area. At one stage, the policemen took down the flag and left the area.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khoksa police station Syed Ashiqur Rehman did not pick up the phone when called for a statement. However, he told local reporters that the police took a cautious approach fearing chaos if two political parties paid homage at the same place.
