The child’s mother, a resident of Fulbaria Upazila of Mymensingh, lives in a rented house in the same village.
Sub-inspector Abu Rehan of Sripur police station said that she gave her son for adoption to the childless Saddam in exchange for the money.
“As the case is not legally supported, the money has been returned [to Saddam] And the child returned to its mother.”
The mother said that she had met Tuhin five years ago and got married against the wishes of the family. But their marriage was not registered. They lived as husband and wife.
This was Tuhin’s second marriage and his first wife lives at his house. That’s why Tuhin did not take him there. Instead, they lived in a rented house in the same locality, the mother said.
