Administrative officer of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) Md. Solaiman has filed a case against actor Afzal Hossain and six others in Shahbag police station of the capital yesterday.
According to the charge sheet of the case a bus was standing beside DRU office at Segunbagicha area in the capital after returning from a picnic tour and its workers were taking back goods to its office on Friday night. It was around 11:00 pm and Afzal Hossain and six others had an altercation with DRU workers. Afzal and his associates were drunk and at one stage they severely beat them. Five to six people were injured and three of them were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. They are also alleging that Afzal and his associates grabbed money and other valuables from the workers of DRU.
Officer in Charge of Shahbag police station has said they will investigate the matter and take required steps following due process of law.
Afzal Hossain is a popular media personality, making television commercials, dramas, acted for tv dramas and also in film. Afzal and Subarna duet was very popular in the eighties. If the allegation is true Afzal’s fan will be hurt so much.
