30 public buses were pasted with printings on awareness on population growth and were inaugurated yesterday by UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund). The global population now reaches seven billions.
The buses are of Mirpur-Jatrabari and Uttara-Motijheel routes. The paintings display the risks of over population, family planning and unplanned urbanization.
UNFPA made slogans as “I am one of 7 billion” and “My future is in my hands. They are campaigning these slogans for the last week.
UNFPA emphasizes on youth population as they are one third of the total population and they should have the required knowledge on reproductive health and rights.
They brought out different programmes like rally, conference etc. in this regard.
