The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources has said that power generation has declined due to the fuel crisis. According to the ministry, today, Thursday, the maximum demand is estimated to be 17,000 MW, while only 14,000 MW of power can be generated at the same time. This could result in a shortfall of 3,000 MW, making load shedding necessary to meet the deficit.

This information was given at a press conference organized by the Power Division in the conference room of the ministry. It said power demand on Wednesday was 15,767 MW, while supply was 13,681 MW – indicating load shedding of about 2,086 MW.

Power Division Joint Secretary Umme Rehana addressed the press conference.
