President Mohammad Shahabuddin today administered the oath of office to Obaidul Hasan as the 24th Chief Justice of Bangladesh.
The head of state took the oath at 11:00 am in a brief ceremony at the Durbar Hall of Rashtrapati Bhavan. Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Mehboob Hussain conducted the swearing-in ceremony.
Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, President’s wife Rebecca Sultana, Cabinet members, advisors, Deputy Leader of the House, former Chief Justice, judges of both the Appellate and High Court divisions, Whips of Parliament, heads of the three services, Attorney General, editors and Senior journalists, Supreme Court lawyers and leaders of the Supreme Court Bar Association were present.
