To pay homage in the first hour of 21 February, multi-layered security arrangements were made around the central Shaheed Minar area. The entire complex has been monitored with 64 cameras.
Apart from regular police deployment, SWAT, dog squad, bomb disposal team and crime scene unit are deployed there. Intelligence surveillance and cyber monitoring are also being done.
In the interest of discipline and safety, traffic diversions were made at seven points around the Shaheed Minar area: Shahbagh Crossing, Neelkhet Crossing, Shahidullah Hall Crossing, High Court Crossing, Chankharpul Crossing, Palashi Crossing and Bakshibazar Crossing. These diversions were implemented on Friday evening.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) advised city residents wishing to pay homage to proceed towards Central Shaheed Minar via Palashi turn and Jagannath Hall crossing. No other route will be allowed.
After paying homage, visitors will have to exit from Ramna Crossing towards Doel Chhatar or via Chankharpul. Everyone is requested to follow the prescribed routes in the interest of order and safety.
