The government has re-appointed Professor Shibli Rubayat-ul Islam as Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) for the next four-year term.
The reappointment was confirmed through a Finance Ministry circular issued on Sunday.
According to the circular, in accordance with the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission Act, 1993, Professor Shibli Rubayat has been re-appointed Chairman for a term of four years commencing from May 17, 2024 or the date of joining duty.
Earlier, on April 4, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had agreed to the ministry's recommendation for his reappointment.
Shibli Rubayat was appointed Chairman of BSEC on 17 May 2020. His tenure will end on May 16 this year.
