PSG add to the magic as another Champions League final begins

Harry Kane finally equalized on the night, but his strike came too late and the 1–1 draw left PSG with an aggregate score of 6–5.

“Tonight showed what type of team we are,” Luis Enrique told broadcaster Canal Plus.

“We showed our maturity, being able to defend as well as attack. As a coach it was a pleasure to watch that performance.”

Desire Du said, “We can’t always win with magic or extraordinary play. We had to defend a lot today but we defended very well.”

The display of defensive cohesion and tenacity was led by Ecuador’s giant Willian Pacho, who remarkably won all six of his duels on the field.

Warren Zaire-Emery has filled in brilliantly at right-back in the absence of the injured Achraf Hakimi, and the 20-year-old France midfielder has perhaps been PSG’s player of the season.

He has played more minutes for them than anyone else, personally recovering from a difficult last campaign when he was only a small member of the team that won the Champions League.
