Director General Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), Additional IGP MD Ahsan Habib Palash has said that they have made the highest level of preparations to maintain law and order across the country during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.
“All RAB battalions are conducting vigorous patrolling, manning checkpoints and strengthening intelligence surveillance in their respective areas to ensure public safety during Eid,” Palash said.
He made this comment while speaking after visiting the National Eidgah complex today.
The RAB chief said mobile checkpoints and search operations are being conducted in coordination with other law enforcement agencies at important locations in the capital and across the country.
He also said that special security measures have also been taken for major Eid gatherings.
Palash said intelligence surveillance has been intensified to prevent the spread of black marketing, illegal storage, price manipulation, food adulteration and counterfeit products aimed at destabilizing the market during Eid.
He also said that online monitoring activities will continue round the clock.
He said, “Since there is comparatively less crowd during the Eid holidays in major cities, the risks of theft, robbery and dacoity increase. To address this, night patrolling and security checkpoints have been increased at the metropolitan, district and upazila levels across the country.”
The RAB chief also mentioned, “RAB has taken all measures so that people can celebrate Eid peacefully and happily with their families and relatives.”
He further said that RAB’s regular patrolling, intelligence surveillance and operational activities against terrorism and other criminal activities will continue uninterrupted to maintain the law and order situation of the country.
