Protesting against all forms of censorship and repression, the statue of established poet Rabindranath Tagore has been removed from the Dhaka University campus.
The people who installed the statue said that Rabindranath had ‘disappeared’. In protest, they hung a banner near TSC’s iconic Raju sculpture that read, ‘Rabindranath has been banished’.
A statue of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore was installed on Tuesday afternoon in protest against censorship and all forms of repression on freedom of thought, creativity and expression in the country.
A group of students from Lalit Kala Sansthan built the 19 feet statue.
