Rail connectivity restored in Kurigram after 23 hours

According to investigation, due to the damage to the bridge, the authorities had stopped the movement of trains on this route from Friday night, October 13. Railway officials stopped the movement of Parbatipur local trains including the Kurigram-Dhaka-bound Kurigram Express and the Kurigram-Rangpur Express shuttle from Chilmari Ramna railway station until the bridge is repaired.

However, railway authorities made arrangements for passengers of the Dhaka-bound Kurigram Express from Lalmonirhat to board trains from Lalmonirhat, Teesta and Kaunia stations until the bridge is repaired.

Teesta Road Division Senior Deputy Assistant Engineer MD Golam Mustafa said that the railway bridge has been made normal by continuous repair work since last night. He said that permanent construction of the railway bridge will be done once the dry season begins.
