Railway uses its own telephone network to communicate between stations which are crucial to run train safely.
But few days ago telephone copper cable between Samshernagar and Bhanugach station of Sylhet-Dhaka-Chittagong route is stolen.
So now railway officials are compelled to use mobile phone which is risky.
Railway officials saying about 87 meter long portion of the cable is stolen which was buried parallel to the rail track. Rail police is suspecting guards of the track there. Police is trying to identify and arrest the culprits; a case was filed on 2nd August by Srimangal rail station communication maintainer Dev Dulal Sarkar in this regard.
