The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain at many places in four divisions and at a few places in four others, including Dhaka, over the next 24 hours from 9:00am today.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barishal divisions,” said a met office bulletin.
Moderately heavy to heavy rainfall is also likely at places across the country.
Day and night temperatures may rise slightly nationwide.
The bulletin said the monsoon trough runs from Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal to Assam, crossing central Bangladesh, while one of its associated troughs extends to the north Bay.
The monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over the north Bay.
