Under the current system Bangladesh Police has some special divisions and units. Like SB (Special Branch), CID (Criminal Investigation Department), DB (Detective Department), Railway Police, Industrial Police, Highway Police, Police Investigation Bureau, Tourist Police and Anti Terrorism Police.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police alone has 24 departments including the counter-terrorism unit. The work of these departments is specific and there are clear instructions to the police headquarters regarding what their uniform will be. Now the question is whether that instruction regarding the red polo shirt of STG has been followed in Rajbari?
The latest directive from Police Headquarters on dress was issued on January 10, 2004. Some units, such as SWAT, also provide special clothing with police headquarters approval. However, during interrogation it was revealed that Rajbari District Police had not taken permission from the police headquarters for the formation of this new unit and introducing the uniform.
