According to OCAG officials, RAJUK officials did not give any proper reply regarding the discrepancies. The audit report and summons letter were issued to the Secretary, but the concerned office did not give any conclusive answer on this issue.
Therefore, the audit recommended administrative action against officials involved in the process of land acquisition and possession.
Ujjwal Malik was the Project Director (PD) of the New Town Project at the time of the audit. He, who currently serves as chief engineer of RAJUK, expressed disbelief over the discrepancies, saying, “What does this mean by less land? I was the 10th PD of this project. Have I encroached upon the land? “
The land acquired for the new city project has been allotted to various areas including residential plots, roads, water bodies, residential blocks and educational institutions.
