Refuel station closed by BSTI for irregularities

A team of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institute (BSTI) has visited some refuel stations of Chittagong city in recent days.   It is reported that, the team found dispensing units in most of the refuel stations were ok. But today they have found one refuel station has tempered their dispensing units. That means the unit’s display show more in their display than they actually supply.

The refuel stations were stealing 250 milliliter diesel and 150 milliliter octane in every ten liters.

This is Anwarul Alam and Sons Filling Station at Oxygen junction on the port city which was stealing fuel. A case is filed against the refuel station before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court of Chittagong under BSTI law.

The BSTI team checked about thirty dispensing units in seven refuel stations of the city today.
