Advocate Sarwar Ahad and Advocate Ripon Baroi, on behalf of Bangladesh Human Rights and Peace for Bangladesh, filed the writ petition seeking removal of the posters and wall writings from the flyover.
The secretary of the local government division, the concerned officials of the two municipal corporations, the chief engineer of the local government division, the rajuk chairman, the Dhaka police commissioner and others were made respondents to the rule.
According to the writ petition, as per the Graffiti Writing and Poster Sticking Control Act, 2012, writing and pasting of posters shall not be allowed at any place except the selected place. Local authorities and local administration can make wall to write or put up posters.
